Some have a grating attachment others don’t.
You can pulse it, but you will get uneven bits.
If it has been frozen it will crumble easier.
Both ways give a more rustic appearance.

My Cuisinart has a grater blade that comes with it … but, it’s a large size processor (14 cups), without a blender. Usually combo-appliances aren’t as good as 2 separate ones… but see if the grater blade comes with it.

You will know because it will have a grater blade. Should say on the box. Or you could just do it by hand or buy it already grated. I mean really how often do you eat grated cheese? Why spend 100$ on a machine when you can spend that much money on cheese thats already grated?

I would stick with the blender for making baby food..

Food processors are better for finely chopping, like onions and carrots for a tomato sauce. But you’re absolutely right, they will not puree smooth enough for baby food.

I use my blender for smoothies mostly, also pureeing soups. I use my food processor if im chopping a large amount of veggies for a big batch of spaghetti sauce.
